'Gaata Rage Mera Dil ‘- A  tribute of Singer Kishore Kumar was organized by Delhi Doordarshan at Manekshaw Centre Delhi Cantonment on 30th November 2014.

Lt. General Om Prakash, AVSM SM, Quarter Master General, Indian Army. Was the chief guest on the programme.


Shri Babul Suprio Baral, Hon'ble Minister of State for Urban Development and HUPA, Govt. of India and a renowned singer himself,  who was busy in public meeting at Kolkata later joined on the  programme.  Shri Babul on public demand sung two captivating and mesmerizing songs of Kishore Kumar.


Shri Subhash Chandra Khuntia, IAS Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas Govt. of India, Shri K.L. Pandey, Member, Railway Claims Tribunal, Gorakhpur (U P ), Shri Sanjay Mittal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Medical and Managing Director, Honorary Radiologist to the President of India Were the guests of honour.


In a programme that lasted more than three hours various songs from the films of singer and actor Kishore Kumar were presented by the various upcoming singers in most melodious voice. Various distinguished guests  threw light on the life and career of the great singer and actor Kishore Kumar.




An epic on the trauma and oppression a girl child goes through at different stages of her life is presented by Dr. Sonal Mansingh and Centre for Indian Classical Dances through Sahakaar-Ideal of Co-operation. The show staged at India Habitat highlighted the growing concern on girl-child like honor-killing, child marriages and other abuses through the artistic medium of dance and music. The program presented the girl's view point in a poignant poem by the eminent poet Prasoon Joshi.

Different ably kinds from two NGOs; Little Star Children Home from Katni, Madhya Pradesh and another one was Divyajypti from New Delhi performed this dance dram on the tune of Dr. Sonal Mansingh.  The show started with Om Shanti - Invocation to the Divine to make the intention of supporting girl child act successful by offering flowers ritually, each petal acquires significance made in dance movements’ evoked atmosphere of peace and tranquility a space in which hearts can bloom.

Kids from both the foundation performed Gati, a special performance knitted by Dr. Sonal Mansingh illustrated freedom from all miseries, this is the real reality of life, this is the real Reality of life, and this is the motivation and spirit of life to go ahead towards the glorious future.

Rimjhim Sa Sapna was the most beautiful act by special kids from Divya Jyoti & Little Star Children home. A dance ballet based on the journey from street to theatre reflecting the inner voice and strength of life of the special children. It depicted the conflicts between their dreams and the boundary of their society and how they can achieve their goal and discover their potential to fulfill the dream of Life.

Another interesting aspect was a special performance by Dr. Sonal Mansingh Ji along with kids titled “Babul Jiya Mora Ghabraye”. This part of drama was based on the famous poem by Prasoon Joshi, a collective voice of young girl. In this drama Sonal ji and special children touched the heart of people by enacting the bitter truth which every young girl goes through while getting married.

The legendary artistSonalMansingh known as Interpreter of deepest philosophical thoughts, cultural activist and Guru with vast knowledge and experience of dance, music and cultural traditions of tribal, folk and classical performing arts of India is celebrated and honored the world over for her performances in Indian classical dance styles, especially Odissi and Bharatnatyam, She is also master of other Indian dance forms like Kuchipudi and Chhau. Propagator of Natya-Katha, the ancient form of story-telling embellished with interpretative narratives is the genre she has introduced recently.

About Little Star Children Home was established on 26th June, 2005. It is a dream project of NGO Little Star Foundation, which is recognized as Children Home under section 34(2) of juvenile justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 by Madhya Pradesh State Government and Specialized Adoption agency by section 41(4) of Juvenile Act.  It provides quality education to the underprivileged children of slums also to thousands of children living both in rural and urban areas through a range of interventions in Madhya Pardesh
